Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X) signed five new appointments to ministerial positions, the Royal Thai Government Gazette reported on April 28.
Prime Minister Settha Thaweesin, who also served as finance minister, handed over to former Stock Exchange of Thailand director Phichai Chunwatchira, who previously headed the board of oil company Bangchak Corporation.
The position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health was replaced by Cholanan Sikeo by Somsak Thepsuthin, who served as Minister of Justice in 2019.
Transport Minister Surya Chuangrungryangkit became another deputy prime minister in place of Foreign Minister Panpri Phitthanukon.
Panpri Phitthanukon, however, remained head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Culture Minister Semsak Phongphanit and Sports and Tourism Minister Sudavan Wangsupphakitkoson exchanged positions by royal decree.
It should be noted that the previous government of Thailand was formed by royal decree on September 2, 2023.
