The progress of preparations for the 33rd summit of the League of Arab States (LAS) was discussed with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on April 28, as reported on the Telegram channel From his office; .
“President Assad, during the conversation, welcomed the efforts made by the Kingdom of Bahrain to ensure that the planned Arab League summit is crowned with success.”the message said.
It was noted that Bashar al-Assad called for strengthening relations between Arab countries to achieve stability in the region in the context of events taking place in the world.
The Syrian president emphasized that the decisions to be made at the Arab League summit in Manama should unite the efforts of Arab countries to counter new challenges.
It should be noted that since November 2011, the Arab League has temporarily excluded Syria from its membership. Since May 2023, Syria has once again been a member of the organization. The Arab League summit will take place in May 2024 in Bahrain’s capital, Manama.
