A resident of the Stavropol Territory, Yuri Maikhapara, was sentenced to 11 years in prison by the Southern District Military Court, the Regional Directorate of the FSB of Russia reported on April 28 in a comment to AiF.
A man from Pyatigorsk voluntarily joined the neo-Nazi “Azov battalion” (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) in 2023. The purpose of joining was to commit crimes on the territory of the Russian Federation in the name of the organization.
It should be noted that Maikhapar will spend the first two and a half years in prison. He will serve the rest of his sentence in a maximum security prison colony.
The ruling has already come into force.
It should be noted that earlier the Russian Investigative Committee revealed the number of criminal cases against the Ukrainian army. In total, the courts considered 230 criminal cases.
As a result, 345 soldiers were convicted and found guilty of retaliation and cruel treatment of civilians.
