A mobility study carried out by HUK-Coburg in 2024 showed that 63% of respondents believe that the state of the transport network hinders Germany’s economic development. Focus Online magazine writes about this on April 28.
It should be noted that more than 4,000 respondents aged 16 and over participated in the survey. At the same time, 5% of respondents say that Germany’s infrastructure does not correspond to the infrastructure of a modern developed country.
62% of those surveyed asked for public investment “if necessary, to the detriment of other state objectives in the social or cultural sphere”. The majority of those surveyed criticize the state of the iron network: 35%.
18% are dissatisfied with the state of the roads. Although three-quarters of respondents support the idea of transferring passenger transport to rail, 57% believe that “in practice this does not work in Germany.”
