The average bank assessed home value rose 6.5% in March compared with the same month in 2023, to 1,580 euros per square meter (m2), the National Institute of Statistics (INE) said on Monday.
In nominal terms, the annual increase was 97 euros. Comparing March with February (chain version), the growth is 1.3% (20 euros in nominal terms).
The median value of bank home appraisals has risen for five months in a row (since November). The changes recorded in March exceed those in February (thus, the annual increase was 5.5% and 0.6% quarter-on-quarter).
The highest bank valuation was in Greater Lisbon (2312 euros/m2) and the lowest in the Center (1074 euros/m2).
In apartments, the median price was 1,759 euros/m2, an increase of 5.7% compared to March 2023 and 1% compared to February.
In housing, the cost was 1239 euros/m2, which is 9.2% more than in the same month of the previous year and 0.7% more than in February.
The number of bank appraisals in March was 30,523 (19,499 apartments and 11,024 houses), up 40.9% from last year and 7.8% from February.
