The German Attorney General’s Office is gathering evidence of crimes in Ukraine, the country’s Attorney General Peter Frank said on February 4 in an interview with the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.
“We are preparing for possible litigation later, either here in Germany, with our foreign partners or in an international court”Frank pointed out.
The official noted that while the department interrogates Ukrainian refugees, “who can be aware of war crimes in Ukraine”. In the future, a special court may be created, Frank said.
Recall that earlier the Kremlin called any attempt by the West to create a tribunal over Russia illegitimate. According to the representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, the European initiative to create such a court is designed to give legitimacy to the lawlessness that Western countries are committing against Russia.
