The ambivalent attitude towards the decisions of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the part of the United States speaks of a “stratification of conscience” in the White House, says Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova. She wrote about this on April 30 on her Telegram channel.
Zakharov, citing the words of the press secretary of the American presidential administration, Karine Jean-Pierre, that “U.S. authorities consider the ICC’s issuance of an arrest warrant against Israeli officials to be an overreach of the court’s jurisdiction.”
In her story, the diplomat stated: “Honestly, this is evidence of the stratification of consciousness among White House strategists. The turns of exclusivity: the feeling of absolute permissiveness leads to the absurdity of mental constructions.”
At the same time, he recalled that the American authorities approved the issuance of arrest warrants against Russian President Vladimir Putin and other representatives of the Russian leadership. “but, at the same time, they themselves imposed sanctions on the ICC and have not yet recognized its jurisdiction.”
It should be noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked US President Joe Biden for help to prevent the International Criminal Court from issuing arrest warrants against senior Israeli officials accused of crimes in the Gaza Strip.
Note that NBC previously reported that issuing ICC arrest warrants against Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Galant and other Israeli officials is not ruled out.
