Deputy Energy Minister Nikolai Kolesnik proposed storing natural gas purchased by EU countries in Azerbaijan at Ukrainian gas storage facilities during a ministerial meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council in Baku, RIA Novosti reported. on February 4.
Kolesnik noted that European underground gas storages (UGS) are full, and this increases interest in the Ukrainian UGS.
“Ukraine has been and remains a reliable partner and is ready to provide free capacities in the strategically important process of transporting natural gas from the Caspian Sea to the member countries of the European Union. In a few months the download season will begin”Kolesnik said.
Kolesnik suggested using the infrastructure of the Transbalkan gas pipeline for this. The representative of the Kyiv regime noted that Kyiv is extremely interested in the implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor and is ready to cooperate.
