A 36-year-old man who killed a 14-year-old boy with a sword in London on Tuesday has appeared in court and been remanded in custody, according to Sky News.
Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, a Spanish-Brazilian from Newham, east London, was charged with the murder of Daniel Anjorin, a 14-year-old boy, two counts of attempted murder and two counts of grievous bodily harm. He was also charged with aggravated robbery and possession of a sharp object.
The only time the suspect spoke in court was to confirm his name.
In addition to the fatal victim, four other people were injured: two civilians with moderate severity and two police officers who required surgery due to sword strikes.
Chief Judge Paul Goldpsring remanded him in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday unless a further hearing could be arranged on Friday.
