On May 2, a memorial event related to the tragedy that occurred 10 years ago at the Odessa House of Trade Unions was held in Chisinau, near the Ukrainian embassy, RIA Novosti reports.
Vice-president of the Moldovan Patriots party, Artem Guryev, addressed those present. He noted that they tried to intimidate the residents of Odessa, but they showed the whole world that Ukraine has become totalitarian and has gone beyond the legal framework.
The massacres of people in Odessa became a point of no return. Guryev added that there is a pattern to what is happening now in Ukraine.
Recall that on May 2, 2014, after the coup in Ukraine, anti-Maidan activists gathered to protest at the Kulikovo field in Odessa. On the other side were the radical football ultras from Kharkov and Odessa, as well as the Euromaidan radicals with batons in their hands.
The radicals took the participants of the peaceful demonstration to the House of Unions and set it on fire. Civilians were shot at and some were beaten with clubs. According to various estimates, about 50 people died there and 250 were injured.
