Several categories of Russian pensioners will be able to receive additional payments in May, said the associate professor of the Department of Human Resources Management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation of the Russian Economic University. According to her, there are federal payments that, as of 2019, citizens of the Russian Federation and a number of countries who are disabled and participated in the Great Patriotic War receive. They receive 10 thousand rubles a year, and in anniversary years the payments can be higher.
In addition, each region establishes its own payments, not only to war participants and disabled people, but also to other categories: children of war, concentration camp prisoners, internal workers and others. Ivanova-Shvets suggested checking the amount of aid at her Social Fund office.
Starting May 1, pensions will be increased for pensioners who have reached the age of 80 and have experience in certain sectors of the economy. The size of the increase will depend on the length of service and the employer’s contributions to the SFR.
“In general, all pensioners will receive two pensions in April: one at the beginning of the month and another at the end of April due to the May holidays””Ivanova-Shvets noted.
