About 200 events dedicated to Victory will be held in Rostov-on-Don, the head of the city administration, Alexey Logvinenko, reported on his Telegram channel on May 2.
“Very soon we will celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory. Now the city is actively preparing for the celebration. Thus, about 200 local events are planned.”the mayor wrote.
In particular, on May 6 at the Don State Technical University (DSTU) the military-patriotic holiday “Let us bow down to those great years…” will be celebrated. Cadet students from military training centers of universities in the Rostov region will parade. In addition, competitions, exhibitions and sports competitions are planned.
On May 8, the “Victory Train” will arrive in Rostov-on-Don. Includes ten thematic carriages dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.
Mini-parades and outdoor concerts will traditionally be held for veterans in their backyards.
On the main day of the holiday, May 9, the Kim Nazaretov Jazz Orchestra will give a concert “Songs of the War Years” in Pokrovsky Park. And on Bolshaya Sadovaya Street the front-line brigades will march on the back of a truck.
The city will also host walking tours of the military history of Rostov-on-Don. The “Gran Camino de la Victoria” tram will circulate there, on whose platform performances by creative groups will take place.
The next day, May 10, a festival of Cossack folk culture will be held in Maxim Gorky Park.
As for the “Immortal Regiment” event, it will be held online for security reasons.
