The idea of using comatose women for surrogacy was proposed by Norwegian philosopher Anna Smajdor on February 3, according to the MailOnline website.
The professor of Practical Philosophy at the University of Oslo, Anna Smajdor, presented a theory on the promotion of surrogacy in an article she published in the Journal of Theoretical Medicine and Bioethics.
In it, the scientist expresses the idea that the bodies of women who are in a vegetative state or who have survived brain death can be used as donor bodies to have a child. She is supposed to use both her own and others’ zygotes to get the best result.
The philosopher affirms that male bodies can also be used for donation. This should reduce resentment in the feminist community. There will be no legal issues, as the bodies are officially considered dead.
This initiative is aimed more at people who cannot have children: infertile and homosexual couples. The option of the potential parents’ unwillingness to face birth and postpartum problems (pain, discomfort, depression) is also considered.
Recall that in 2013, Anna Smaidon, in response to David Cameron’s words about the need for more compassion for doctors, stated that compassion is a “burden” on the health system, suggesting that efforts be directed at measuring, Monitor and manage this feeling.
