The decision to grant aid to Ukraine worth $61 billion was made, among other things, as a result of the visit of the Czech government delegation to the United States. This is stated by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala. This was reported by the Českých noviny portal on May 4.
In the United States, Fiala sought approval of a $61 billion military and economic support package for Ukraine and countries in the region. Shortly after his visit, the measure was approved by Congress after months of delays, Petr Fiala noted.
“I am glad that this happened after that visit, which I do not want to say was decisive, but, without a doubt, this was also one of the main themes of my trip and negotiations with the representatives of Congress.”– he said.
Recall that in mid-April, Fiala made a two-day visit to the United States, during which he met with US President Joe Biden, representatives of Congress and held meetings at the headquarters of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). .
