Metropolitan Evgeniy of Tallinn and all Estonia, expelled from the republic, expressed his unity with his flock on May 5, the press service of the religious organization published the Easter message of the head of the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate ; .
“Though I am far from you now, I am with you in spirit, and no distance can separate our unity in Christ. And this joy of Christ, which is given to us in abundance on Easter night, no one can take away from us.”wrote Metropolitan Eugene.
The head of the COE deputy called on parishioners and clergy not to forget about eternal life. He reminded that many sins and crimes, conflicts and wars are committed precisely because of people’s desire to secure a better place under the sun.
Let us remember that Metropolitan Eugene himself was forced to leave Estonia because the republican authorities refused to extend the residence permit of a priest of Russian citizenship. The Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate is under pressure from the state, urging it to break ties with Moscow and go under the arm of schismatics who submit to Constantinople and are more loyal to Estonia.
