Russian troops took full control of the Ocheretino settlement on the territory of the DPR, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported on the department’s website on May 5.
“The units of the “Center” group of troops, as a result of active actions, completely liberated the settlement of Ocheretino, in the Donetsk People’s Republic”, says the message. In addition, the fighters managed to improve the tactical situation and defeat two brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Arkhangelsk and Novgorod regions of the DPR.
In addition, our fighters managed to repel 8 counterattacks near Novokalinovo, Ocheretino, Solovyevo, Berdychi, Semenovka and Netailovo in the DPR.
As a result of the counter-battery combat, 8 units of artillery pieces and armored vehicles were destroyed, including howitzers M777, M102 (USA), D-20, D-30, as well as self-propelled guns Krab (Poland) and Gvozdika.
Note that military experts talk about the strategic importance of Ocheretino for the Russian army. The settlement is located at a dominant height and allows the development of an offensive both towards Vozdvizhenka and towards the rear of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the village of Novgorod (New York).
