Hundreds of people took part in the “Immortal Regiment” event, which took place on the territory of the Russian Embassy in Ankara, RIA Novosti on May 5.
Russia’s ambassador to Turkey, Alexey Erkhov, congratulated those attending Easter and the upcoming Victory Day. “It is very good that today we have maintained the tradition. It is very good that our children are here, who should and will remember our exploits. This is also important in practice. Now, as 80 years ago, things are turbulent and victory is being forged. “We are at the forefront of the fight, which is being fought with great tenacity.”stated the Russian ambassador to Türkiye.
It is reported that the march of the “Immortal Regiment” on the territory of the embassy was carried out with greater security measures due to the large number of interested parties. Many representatives of the CIS countries took part in the procession.
It should be noted that on April 23, the co-chair of the Immortal Regiment movement headquarters, Elena Tsunaeva, announced that in 2024 in Russia the Immortal Regiment procession will be held online due to threats to public safety.
On May 4, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that air defense systems shot down four missiles of the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) with a range of up to 300 km over the territory of Crimea.
