The Israeli Defense Minister has stated that Israel has detected “indications” that Hamas does not want to close an agreement for the release of the hostages and therefore the Israeli military offensive on Rafah could begin “in the near future.”
The negotiating delegation of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas)left Cairo this Sunday with heading to Qatar to consult with the group management last proposal proposed for a Stop the fire and the release of hostages and prisoners, according to a Hamas source cited by pan-Arab television Al Jazeera.
The delegation thus leaves the Egyptian capital after two days of negotiations with contacts apparently paralyzed by the Palestinian group’s demand that an end to the Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip in exchange for the releases.
The political leader of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, Ismail Haniye, has assured that his party remains interested in reaching “a comprehensive and interconnected agreement” that ends Israel’s war but has maintained its requirement that any pact guarantees an immediate ceasefire as well as the troop withdrawal Israelis from Gaza.

“We have clear objectives for this war: the elimination of Hamas and the release of the hostages,” he explained. “We have given a certain deadline (to the negotiations) and we have delayed operational actions” to facilitate a possible release, Gallant stated, according to the newspaper.
