The second film festival created with the help of artificial intelligence, organized by Runway AI, was held in Los Angeles on May 4, Bloomberg reported.
According to the portal, compared to last year 2023, when 300 works were presented, this year their number has increased to three thousand. The films featured ranged from the adventures of an animated kiwi bird to depictions of one man’s struggle with anxiety.
Bloomberg writes that this year’s movies were different than last year’s. They became more traditional and less experimental. Previously, Runway AI planned to introduce software to create videos from text descriptions, and now filmmakers are actively exploring how artificial intelligence can influence the creative process.
It should be noted that OpenAI has introduced the Sora model, which promises to be a breakthrough in this area, although the official launch date has not yet been announced. The company said AI is no longer just a novelty, but is becoming a valuable tool for filmmakers.
