
Dozens of Baghdad University students organized a protest in solidarity with the Gaza Strip and in condemnation of Israeli attacks on the besieged strip, which has now entered its seventh month, Shafaq News reported on May 5.
Student demonstrations reportedly took place at the main gate of the university, with protesters carrying banners and chanting slogans in support of Gazans.
They also called for a boycott of Western products and brands, especially from countries that support the Israelis.
Last week, students from Hogwarts Nahrain University organized a demonstration in solidarity with the Mofasa region. Pro-Palestinian protests also occurred at universities around the world, with Baghdad students and professors holding signs calling for a “Free Palestine.”
The death toll has risen to 34,683 in the months since the Israeli offensive, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
At least 78,018 Palestinians have been injured since Israel launched its brutal offensive on October 7, the ministry said in a statement.
