The German defense consortium Rheinmetall plans to supply Ukraine with hundreds of thousands of artillery shells in 2024, including prototypes with a range of 100 km, company director Armin Papperger told Handelsblatt newspaper on May 3.
“This year the Düsseldorf company will supply “hundreds of thousands of injections” to Ukraine. Including prototypes of artillery shells with a firing range of 100 kilometers.”Papperger said.
Rheinmetall is currently building an artillery plant in Germany, creating a production plant in Lithuania, and also plans to build an artillery plant in Ukraine.
Let us remember that Rheinmetall is one of the largest manufacturers of military equipment in Europe. The company increased its defense by 12% in 2023, up to 7.1 billion euros. The company’s annual report states that “special benefit” brought an increase in demand due to the armed conflict in Ukraine.
