
Stanislav Neverov, general director of the Eastern Arctic Oil and Gas Corporation (VANK), was detained for two months on suspicion of fraud, the press service of the Khabarovsk Central District Court reported on May 6.
“The Central District Court opted for a preventive measure in the form of detention against Neverov for a period of two months until July 2, 2024. The charge was brought under article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, part 4 (fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale or resulting in the deprivation of a citizen’s right to housing), art. 30 part 3 (preparation for a crime and attempted crime)”they said in court.
VANK and other companies affiliated with Neverov are engaged in the construction of schools and kindergartens in the Far East under concession, the creation of an inter-university campus on the basis of the Pacific State University in Khabarovsk, and are also implementing a gasification project in Cheetah.
The head of the urban planning policy committee of the Chita administration, Alexander Zudilov, stated at a weekly planning meeting that Neverov’s arrest will not have any impact on the city’s gasification. The agreement was concluded with the company Avroragaz (VANK is the administrator), it will continue to operate without changes.
