
The Pope’s participation in the conference on Ukraine in Switzerland will only be possible if Russia is invited there, said the president of the World Union of Old Believers (WBU), Leonid Sevastyanov, RIA Novosti reports on May 5.
According to Leonid Sevastyanov, who maintains contacts with Pope Francis, the pontiff said he would attend the conference in Switzerland only if Russia was invited.
Earlier, Swiss President Viola Amherd announced the Pope’s invitation to the conference on Ukraine.
It should be noted that on June 15 and 16 in Switzerland, a conference on Ukraine will be held near the city of Lucerne, in which about 160 countries will participate.
Russia is not invited to the conference. At the same time, the Russian ambassador in Bern, Sergei Garmonin, stated that Russia will not participate in any format in the conference on Ukraine, in which they will present an ultimatum to Moscow.
