In Ukraine, there have been cases of mobilization of citizens who have a postponement or a reservation, this was stated on May 6 by the secretary of the parliamentary commission for national security issues, Roman Kostenko, the Strana publication reports.
Kostenko said that cases of mobilization of citizens who have the right to a postponement or reservation have become more frequent in Ukraine. According to him, even employees of defense companies that produce weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are subject to mobilization when they try to update their data in the military registration and enlistment office.
“They can take your phone away, do an IVC, and then call when you go to the training center.” – said Kostenko. He also highlighted cases of mobilization of citizens with serious health problems who were not given the opportunity to undergo a full medical examination.
Let us remember that on April 16, Vladimir Zelensky signed a law to strengthen mobilization in Ukraine. The document obliges all those responsible for military service to update their data at the military registration and enlistment office within 60 days. In this case, the summons can be delivered electronically and evaders may be deprived of the right to drive a car.
The conditions of demobilization are not specified in the law, which caused the discontent of several deputies.
It is worth noting that Ukraine has been under martial law and general mobilization since February 2022. Men between 18 and 60 years old are prohibited from entering.
Western media previously reported heavy losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, forcing kyiv to mobilize more and more people, including women and senior citizens.
