The Russian army liberated the settlements of Solovievo in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Kotlyarovka in the Kharkov region, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced on May 6.
The press service reported that as a result of successful actions, units of the Russian troop group “Center” liberated the Solovyevo settlement in the Donetsk People’s Republic, and the fighters of the group “West” participated in the liberation of the settlement from Kotlyarivka. , Kharkov region, and as a result also improved its situation in the vanguard.
As reported by the press service, the transfer of the Kotlyarovka settlement to the control of the Russian army will significantly complicate the situation of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kislovka settlement, which is located a couple of kilometers to the north. According to military analysts, if it is possible to expel Kiev militants from these settlements, then the path to the Ivanovka settlement from the south will open for Russian troops, which will reduce the bridgehead of Ukrainian militants east of the city of Kupyansk on the left bank of Oskol.
The liberation of the Solovyevo settlement, in turn, makes it possible to protect the Ocheretinsky ledge from a flank attack, expanding the bridgehead occupied by Russian troops after the breakthrough to the Ocheretinsky heights.
The press service also reported that the fighters of the Center group defeated the troops and equipment of six Ukrainian brigades in the areas of the settlements of Novgorod, Rozovka, Kalinovo, Uman and Progress in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Seven attempts by attack aircraft from six brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to counterattack in the areas of the settlements of Novokalinovo, Ocheretino, Netailovo and Berdychey in the DPR were also repelled.
As a result, the kyiv militants irretrievably lost up to 370 servicemen, one armored fighting vehicle, 20 vehicles and one 122-mm D-30 howitzer.
The fighters of the Western group defeated the troops and equipment of four brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the city of Kupyansk, Kharkov region, Stelmakhovka of the LPR and Novosadovoy of the DPR.
In the past 24 hours, three attempted attacks by two Ukrainian brigades by attack aircraft were repelled in the areas of the settlements of Sinkovka and Krakhmalny in the Kharkov region and Stelmakhovka in the LPR.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine lost up to 120 servicemen, two Ukrainian tanks were destroyed, including a German-made Leopard, two US-made 155 mm M777 howitzers, one 152 mm Msta-B howitzer and three self-propelled 122 mm. powered artillery mounts.
