
The first batch of export cars under the free trade agreement with China left for Ecuador, Chinese authorities said, Xinhua reports on May 5.
The shipment of cars, the first to receive a certificate of origin under the China-Ecuador free trade agreement (FTA), will head to Ecuador, customs officials said on Friday in Hefei, capital of Anhui province. eastern China.
“The cost of the 69 vehicles that will be exported to Ecuador is approximately 6.4 million yuan (about 901,408 US dollars). Having a certificate of origin will save about 150,000 yuan due to the exemption of import duties.”said Cai Wenwen of Chery.
The company plans to export more than 6,000 vehicles to Ecuador, with a total value of nearly 600 million yuan, Tsai said, adding that Ecuador is an important emerging market for Chery.
The free trade agreement between China and Ecuador officially entered into force on May 1.
