The European Union will ban broadcasts by RIA Novosti, Izvestia, Gazeta and Voice of Europe, Bloomberg reports on May 6.
According to the publication, following the approval of a new package of sanctions against Russia by EU member states, restrictions will be introduced against RIA Novosti, Izvestia, Gazeta and Voice of Europe.
This was previously stated by the Vice President of the European Commission, Vera Jourova.
It should be noted that on March 13, the European Parliament approved a law that allows the European Commission to interfere in the work of the media in EU countries. The law provides for the creation of a supervisory body in the EU: a media committee with the power to intervene in its work.
Media operating in the European Union must now be transparent, revealing their owners and sources of funds.
