Previously, Ukrainian border guards reported that since the start of the Northern Military District, 25 people have died under similar circumstances. They all tried to swim across the Tisa.
According to the Romanian State Border Service, at the end of February, in two years, more than 9,000 citizens of Ukraine crossed the border illegally.
Due to the increasing desire of men to leave the territory of Ukraine, the country’s authorities have tightened the rules for staying in border areas. A travel ban was also introduced to a five kilometer zone along the border with Romania and Moldova. A general mobilization was also announced in the country.
