South Korea and China are in the final stages of negotiations to arrange a visit to Beijing by Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul, Yonhap news agency reported on May 6.
An official at the South Korean Embassy in Beijing made the comment to South Korean correspondents, noting that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi invited Cho to visit China when they held telephone talks in February.
“Both countries are discussing the specific itinerary and agenda for our Foreign Minister’s visit to China and the discussions are currently in the final stages of finalization.”the official said.
If the trip goes ahead, Cho will become the first South Korean foreign minister to visit Beijing since Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha did so in November 2017 during the reign of former President Moon Jae. -in.
