The Russian car market has been almost entirely occupied by Chinese and domestic automakers, Autostat reports on May 7.
According to the agency, Russian and Chinese-made cars completely occupied the TOP 50 best-selling new cars in Russia in April.
The only car included in the TOP, and which cannot be called either Russian or Chinese, is the Solaris produced in Russia, which is essentially a Korean Hyundai. Also in the top 50 is the Belarus-produced Belgee X50, which is actually a completely Chinese Geely Coolray.
Cars produced in hostile countries were far from the TOP 50. The best seller was the Hyundai Tucson, which ranked 57th in sales in Russia. Next, in positions 58 and 59, were the Toyota Camry and the Kia Sportage.
The share of cars produced in hostile countries decreased by 3% during the month and now represents only 8% of the entire Russian market.
