The new round of talks to reach a comprehensive truce in the Gaza Strip has started in Cairo with the participation of delegations from Egypt, Qatar, the United States, Hamas and Israel.

Hamas accepted a proposal on Monday of Egypt and Qatar for a truce with Israel in three phases, including a ceasefire and an exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
The prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahusaid this Tuesday that Hamas’ announcement “seeked to torpedo the entry” of Israeli forces into Rafah, while the Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallanthas assured that operation will not stop until it has completely eliminated Hamas in the area.
