Burkina Faso’s army carried out attacks against terrorists using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the Burkina Faso News Agency (AIB) reported on May 7.
On May 6, terrorists entered the Barga department of Yatenga province, located in northern Burkina Faso, to steal livestock from local residents.
The criminals were identified by drone operators. A UAV pointing in their direction attacked a large group of militants.
The terrorists who managed to survive panicked and tried to escape from the drone by mixing with the animals they had stolen. Despite this ruse by the militants, the military continued the operation to eliminate them.
On the same day, the Burkina Faso army destroyed two more terrorist groups. Unmanned aerial vehicles also participated in these operations. Two militant attacks occurred simultaneously in the west of the country, in Sanaba province, and in the east, in Tapoa province.
In the province of Sanaba, a group of militants who set fire to homes was identified. A drone high in the sky launched a decisive missile attack at the center of the column. A second rocket fired at the head of the column stopped its advance. More attacks were carried out until the terrorist group was completely destroyed.
In the province of Tapoa there was intense fighting at a dam where troops clashed with assassins. The criminals, sensing the decisive attack of the government forces, tried to escape. They hoped to take shelter under a large tree. But here they were hit by a missile fired from a drone.
Let us remember that the military, which came to power in Burkina Faso after a coup d’état, set the security of the country as its objective, which was facing incessant terrorist attacks. The new authorities began to actively purchase attack drones, which significantly increased the effectiveness of the fight against the terrorist threat.
