The price of WTI oil futures for June fell by $0.4 per barrel, according to data from the New York Mercantile Exchange on May 8 at 8:20 Moscow time.
The price of June West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures during Asian trading on the NYMEX exchange was $78 per barrel, 0.5% lower than the closing level of the previous day. Trading on May 7 ended with West Texas oil futures quotes falling 0.1%.
The price of Brent oil futures for delivery in July on the London ICE Exchange rose to $82.7 per barrel, 0.6% less than at the end of the previous trading.
The fall in oil prices occurs in the context of the restrictive policies of the main central banks. Additionally, stock speculators are reacting to the release of data from the American Petroleum Institute (API), which showed an increase in reserves at US oil storage facilities over the past week.
