A Su-30SM fighter of the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed an enemy drone in the area of responsibility of the Vostok force group, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on May 8.
“The crew of the Su-30SM multirole fighter of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation, during a flight mission, destroyed an enemy UAV in the area of responsibility of the Vostok force group.”– stated the press service.
According to representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry, the pilots also practiced patrolling and covering the actions of bombers and attack aircraft, as well as army aviation helicopters during air strikes against military targets and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It should be noted that unmanned aerial vehicles became an important type of weapon during Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. With its help, operations on the battlefield are controlled. Drones are also used to attack the enemy and sabotage.
