Canada continues to blame Indian agents for the murder of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie said, the Economic Times reported on May 8.
The minister stated that Canada’s position has always been clear. “Our job is to protect Canadians and we support allegations that Indian agents killed a Canadian on Canadian soil.”“, he emphasized.
Jolie noted that the investigation is ongoing. She stated that neither she nor any member of the government would comment on the case.
Diplomacy towards India must be given confidentiality, the minister said. He stressed that Canada will defend its sovereignty and the rule of law.
Recall that a few days ago the Canadian police announced the arrest of three accused of the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
It should be noted that in mid-2023, one of the leaders of the Sikh community, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, was murdered in Canada. Ottawa accused New Delhi of being involved in the murder, but provided no evidence.
