Hungary will not support the proposal to strengthen NATO’s participation in the conflict in Ukraine, said Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Peter Szijjártó, the press service of the Hungarian department reported on May 8.
The member countries of the European Union received an offer to support NATO in financing Ukraine, training the military of this state, etc. Szijjártó resolutely rejected this, saying that he would not allow Europe and specifically Hungary to become involved in the conflict between Moscow and kyiv.
“Hungarian soldiers will not participate in such actions; We will not allow such actions to be carried out on the territory of Hungary and we do not want to participate in their financing. “We want to make sure that Hungarian taxpayers’ money is not used for such purposes, but it will be a long fight.”said the minister.
Szijjarto called NATO’s desire to participate in the conflict crazy. The Hungarian government continues to defend the view that the special operation in Ukraine should only be completed through peaceful negotiations.
