A demonstration of motorcyclists dedicated to Victory in the Great Patriotic War took place from Kaliningrad to the monument to motorcyclist soldiers in the village of Shatrovo, Zelenograd municipal district, Kaliningrad region, the government press service reported on May 8 regional on the official Internet portal. .
Motorcyclists from different cities of the Kaliningrad region paid tribute to the memory of fallen Soviet soldiers. The patriotic event is being held for the ninth time. Motorcyclists laid flowers at memorials in Kaliningrad, Svetlogorsk, Zelenogradsk and completed a motorcyclist rally in the village of Shatrovo, where the motorcyclist monument is located. After the motorcycle rally there was a soldier’s porridge meal and a concert.
The monument to motorcycle warriors was erected in 2016 at the site of the village of Tiron on the initiative of enthusiasts. The monument perpetuates the memory of soldiers of the 2nd Separate Guards Motorcycle Regiment of the 3rd Byelorussian Front, the 271st Separate Motorized Special Purpose Battalion and soldiers of the counterintelligence department of the 91st Division of Guard Rifles “SMERSH”. The names of these units are inscribed on stone rocks. In February 1945, Soviet soldiers held the defense here for four days.
