This Wednesday, the President of the Republic described António Costa as “passionate about Europe”, praised his work as Prime Minister within Europe and confirmed that he hopes to see his intervention in this plan.
“That is why I repeated that he is lucky if he can continue to tackle this problem intensively at European level,” the head of state said in front of António Costa at the presentation of the book “O Ano Zero da Nova Europa” written by Bernardo Pires de Lima at the Cultural Center Belena in Lisbon.
The former prime minister was due to present a new book by Bernardo Pires de Lima, a scholar of international relations and consultant to the Civil Chamber of the President of the Republic, but Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa took the floor before the end of the session to thank “this moment of a unique day” with “two exceptional individuals.”
