In Perm, the organization of the “Immortal Regiment” will be entrusted to the military-patriotic youth education center “Avangard” in 2022, said the head of the “Immortal Regiment” public association. Perm” Anna Otmakhova, April 19, the New Companion publication reports.
According to Otmakhova, she refused to carry out the “Immortal Regiment” action, citing fatigue.
Otmakhova believes that Avangard should preserve the basic principle of the Immortal Regiment: “non-politicized civil event.”
Let us recall that on May 9, 2018, the coordinator of the public action “Immortal Regiment” Anna Otmakhova prohibited carrying the Banner of Victory in the procession. Otmakhova explained her actions based on the event’s rules, which prohibit the use of flags. In her opinion, the flags interfere with other participants in the action of the Immortal Regiment.
Otmakhova spoke out in favor of equating Stalinism with fascism and also believes that “Russians (and most Russians) are the most aggressive and evil nation, inclined to solve problems from a position of strength”.
In 2020, a law was passed in the Perm region mandating the use of copies of the Victory Banner during ceremonial events.
