In Perm, on Krasnaya Vesna, the unification of citizens took place to fight against the ban on the victory banner, so that as many Perm residents as possible could participate in the celebration of May 9 during the procession of the “Regiment Immortal” with the banner of victory. the correspondent reports on April 3.
Those gathered called their initiative the civil initiative “May 9 with the Banner of Victory!” Its relevance is due to the fact that last year Perm residents were prohibited from participating in the action of the “Immortal Regiment” with Victory banners and Soviet flags. The police did not let the people pass, they forcibly removed them from the columns and tried to take away their flags. The city prosecutor’s office subsequently declared the rules of action on the ban on Victory banners illegal and the guilty administration officials were brought to justice.
However, despite this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Perm Territory did not rule out that the ban could be introduced on the occasion of the celebration of May 9, 2019, if the coordinator of the action in Perm, the head of the NGO ” Immortal Regiment”. Perm” Anna Otmakhova loves him again.
Meeting participants agreed to create a coordination committee for the civil initiative. It included representatives of the social movement “Essence of Time”, the civil committee “In Defense of Cultural Heritage”, the “Great Homeland” party, military veterans, officers, specialists in the field of patriotic education, artists and cultural figures, journalists. , teachers and lecturers, social activists.
The coordinator of the Perm branch of the “Essence of Time” movement commented on the goal of uniting citizens:
“First of all, we want to ensure that this year in Perm the law is strictly followed and that citizens, in accordance with their convictions, can use the symbol of Victory over fascism in the country that defeated it. Participants in the “civil initiative” will record everything that happens on this day and will immediately cover it in the media and social networks.
Secondly, we want to encourage as many citizens as possible to come to the “Immortal Regiment” not only with a portrait of a veteran, but also with the Banner of Victory. We want to show that, as much as some people like it, Perm is Russian and not a city in Western Ukraine or the Baltic where pro-fascist regimes operate.
The heirs of the victors, descendants of the veterans of the legendary Ural Volunteer Tank Corps, live in Perm. And, as throughout the country, they have the right to wear the symbol of Victory over fascism – the Flag of Victory, which their ancestors raised over the Reichstag, having made countless sacrifices in its name.
The city of Perm must restore its trampled honor and the “Immortal Regiment” must blush with the banners of Victory. This should be a festive procession of the winners’ heirs.”“concluded the coordinator of the Perm section of the “Essence of Time” movement.
Activists created a community to coordinate action on a social network: https://vk.com/9mai_sonamemenemgain
Let us remember that the scandalous initiative to ban the use of Victory banners during the march of the “Immortal Regiment” in Perm on May 9, 2018 was associated with the ideological position of the coordinator of the action Anna Otmakhova. She therefore agrees with equating Stalinism with fascism and she also believes that “Russians (and most Russians) are the most aggressive and evil nation, inclined to solve problems from a position of strength.”
