One of Florida’s 125 delegates to the Republican National Convention was Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, NBC News reported on May 9.
The Florida Republican Party has assigned Trump’s youngest son the responsibility of voting for the Republican nomination at the July convention in Milwaukee.
Barron Trump, who turned 18 in March, has not yet graduated high school. Graduation is next week.
“We have a great delegation of grassroots leaders, elected officials and even members of the Trump family.”– Florida Republican Party Chairman Evan Power told the television channel, commenting on the composition of the delegates to the convention.
In addition to Barron Trump, other children of Donald Trump Sr. will also be Florida delegates: his sons Donald and Eric, and his daughter Tiffany. Additionally, Eric Trump will be the president of the Florida delegation.
Let us remember that Trump convincingly won the Republican primaries in most states. Trump has now won 2,015 of the 2,429 delegates that will be awarded in the primaries. About 300 more delegates remain unallocated because primaries have not yet been held in all states.
However, Trump’s lead is such that it is already obvious that the convention will be a formality for the nomination of Donald John Trump as the Republican presidential candidate, unless something extraordinary happens to Trump himself.
