
The safe and orderly labor migration of citizens of Uzbekistan and the return to their homeland of 300 thousand Uzbek migrant workers were discussed at a meeting of the head of the republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev, his press secretary Sherzod Asadov reported on May 10.
“It is expected that between 250,000 and 300,000 more people will return by the end of the year”they told Mirziyoyev.

Mirziyev noted that the issue of employment and income of the population is of utmost importance, which is why it is necessary to employ all returning fellow citizens.
At the meeting it was reported that in 2024, 115 thousand fellow citizens from labor migration had already returned to Uzbekistan for various reasons. At the same time, Mirziyoyev stressed the need to help compatriots who work abroad but find themselves in a difficult situation.
Let us remember that migrant workers from Uzbekistan and the countries of Central Asia and Kazakhstan systematically go in search of seasonal work both to Western countries, Japan and Korea, and to Russia.
