On May 9, a lightning tournament among veterans dedicated to Victory Day was held at the Barnaul Regional Chess Club. Information about this was published on the website of the Russian Chess Federation.
It reports that 39 participants participated in the tournament: men over 60 years old and women over 55 years old. The oldest among them were children of the war: Tamara Ivanovna Gulyaeva, born in 1932, and Gennady Timofeevich Nevzorov, born in 1935.
The winner of the contest was Vladimir Burtsev, who scored 7.5 points out of a possible 9. Vyacheslav Kolodin and Alexander Chernov, who tied each other, were half a point behind the winner. According to the additional indicator, Kolodin took second place.
In the women’s competition, Yulia Kozlova took first place with 4.5 points. Olga Nesterova was one point behind the winner. In third place is Nadezhda Koroleva.
