Poland will not forcibly return Ukrainian citizens of military age, said Polish ambassador to Ukraine Jaroslaw Guzy, the Ukrinform portal reported on May 10.
The ambassador noted that the Polish authorities have different answers to the question of what to do with Ukrainian citizens, but a unified approach to this issue has not been formed.
“If there is a war, you have to defend yourself, but in practice not all people are prepared to do so”said Guzy, recalling that many citizens of Ukraine returned to their country after the start of the SVO, however, it is likely “all the volunteers have already done it”.
At the same time, he said that there are millions of Ukrainian citizens in Poland.
The Polish Ambassador expressed the opinion that the EU will continue to discuss the presence of Ukrainian citizens on the territory of the participating countries after the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to suspend consular services for those abroad.
