“We met on Sunday night and agreed specifically on what, where and how we will do it.”said the archbishop.
Recall that on May 4, the Primate of the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Bagrat Srbazan (Galstanyan), together with members of the “Tavush – in the name of the Fatherland” movement, left the Tavush regional center in procession. They opposed the transfer of four villages in the Tavush region from Armenia to Azerbaijan, which the Armenian authorities planned to do.
On May 9, protesters, joined by thousands of Armenian citizens, arrived in Yerevan and held a demonstration there demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. A previously planned demonstration of thousands of people also took place on the afternoon of May 10.
It should be noted that the “In the Name of the Fatherland” movement had the support of the entire Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church, as well as the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I.
