The 16 couples who will celebrate their love this year at Santo Antonio Weddings were presented this Thursday at a ceremony that took place at the Páteo da Galé in Lisbon.
At the ceremony, the mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, emphasized the importance of the city’s celebrations and challenged the newlyweds of Santo António: “I invite couples from Lisbon to take part in this party. I invite you to celebrate this event with us. your union on such an important day in your life and in a unique setting: with the noise of the Tagus, with the radiance and light of our city.”
Carlos Moedas recalled that “in June, a party begins in Lisbon, glorifying Saint Anthony in his festivals, in his marches, in the countless celebrations of this very Lisbon month, which so identifies us and fills us with memories.”
