Vigilant bank employees helped a 63-year-old Astrakhan woman avoid becoming a victim of scammers, the regional Interior Ministry reported on May 10.
A stranger called the pensioner and told her that a loan had been granted in her name. To pay off her debt, they convinced her to take out a real loan for 800 thousand rubles and transfer it to a supposedly safe account.
The confident 63-year-old woman from Astrakhan agreed and submitted an application to the bank. Attentive employees of the financial institution noticed that something was wrong and canceled the operation. During a conversation with the pensioner, the specialists managed to convince her that she had fallen into the trap of scammers.
Thanks to the competent actions of the bank’s employees, Astrakhan was saved from intruders. The law enforcement agencies, upon learning of this incident, gave the specialists letters of gratitude.
