The Royal Academy of Arts (KABK) in The Hague has decided to cancel its cooperation with the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, the NOS channel reported on May 11.
According to the channel, this is the first educational institution in the Netherlands to stop cooperating with the Israeli course. KABK will no longer continue the exchange program with Bezalel University.
“Our community agrees that our policies and actions, and those of our partners, must continually and actively support and defend universal humanitarian rights.””, the management wrote to the KABK student union.
Recall that in December 2023, the KABK student union published an online petition asking to sever ties with Bezalel Academy. Management rejected the proposal at the time, but now appears to have complied.
