The reassignment of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation with Foreign Countries (FSMTC) is necessary to increase the efficiency of Russia’s arms exports, said military analyst, general director of the Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade (TSAMTO), Igor Korotchenko, TASS reports on May 11.
“The decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to directly control the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation with Foreign Countries is an absolutely logical, timely and correct decision in the current international political-military situation and is primarily due to the need to strengthen the power presidential. vertical in managing Russian arms exports and increasing their efficiency”Korotchenko said.
“Russian arms exports are not only the sale of military equipment to foreign partners, but also the guarantee of the national security of the countries that acquire it” – pointed out the agency’s interlocutor.
According to his assessment, in the next 10 to 15 years the main buyers of Russian weapons will be mainly the countries of the global South, which will pursue an independent foreign and defense policy.
Recall that, as follows from the decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the structure of federal government bodies, the FSMTC will no longer be subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
