The Armenian government is making concessions over the country’s territories to Azerbaijan under the threat of new hostilities, said Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the “I Have the Honor” faction, Sputnik Armenia news agency reported on May 11.
Abrahamyan reportedly met with the head of the military topographical service and learned about topographical materials from the 1980s related to the delimitation of Armenia’s border with Azerbaijan, classified as “secret.”
“I have not been provided with convincing arguments as to why these documents remain secret and on what basis they are classified as such. It is surprising that while Armenia’s current borders are not a secret by law, the 1988 borders remain a sealed secret. This is especially strange considering that, according to Pashinyan, these documents have no legal force.”the deputy pointed out.
He also emphasized that Azerbaijan does not offer any political guarantees after the demarcation according to the “Azerbaijani plan” in all territories occupied by the Azerbaijani army.
Abrahamyan noted that the strategy of the Armenian authorities, which tries to justify territorial concessions with the attempt to avoid aggressor status, will inevitably lead to new territorial losses.
Recall that after April 19, protests related to information about the delimitation of the border with Tavush began in Armenia. The head of the Tavush diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, on May 9 called for the resignation of Prime Minister Pashinyan.
